Really enjoyed yesterday
Lights on, packed house, very good side who were expecting an easy win visiting.

Great performance, very entertaining game, and a terrific atmosphere, which the poor, biased officiating helped with as well, in a way. The place was rocking after Valencia's first goal and it really set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.

Not going to be many more of these left, now!

Here's hoping for another eight of those before the end of the season.

The good cheer of WHOers is like shards of glass in my cup of tea.

I am off to watch youtube videos of people falling over and hurting themselves.

One of the best games I have been to... Playing a team of that quality and matching (if not bettering) them in every department.

The fact we've got Lanzini to come back into the fold as well... I can't remember the last time I was this excited about being a West Ham fan.

Absolutely love Super Slav as well.

A cracking game and atmosphere for the proper West Ham fans who haven't deserted the club and stayed loyal during the tough times.

ED... yes and no... different ball game now... miss games like yesterday that looked a great deal of fun... however in the whole now football is set up for people on the sofa rather than the hard lined money paying football fan... different breed now and will be 10 times worse come next season... however at the moment the football is chalk and cheese compared to the past 4 years and am loving it... and more importantly the people that put in the mass of mileage and the tons load of dollars are now having something seriously to shout about... long may it continue

Would make my day knowing that somewhere in the stadium, Sold0 was there.

Finally we have our West Ham back. A manager who gets it and cares, one of our own! A fantastic squad best we've seen in years. The buzz is definitely back over there at the moment and it's nice to look forward to games again.

The midweek game against Tottenham in March is going to be something else, especially if we're still in the top 6 mix

Had a nice bit of fun after the match at the away fans exit, within minutes they set up a 'video interview' thing, seeking interviews from their fans on"what went wrong." It immediately got video bombed with, chants of bubbles....we've got Payet etc, much to the annoyance of one of their lads who tried to throw a punch but got frogmarched off and slammed into the Cop waggon by a female officer, comedy moment.

You don't seem to miss it at all, son?

Re: Really enjoyed yesterday
Their fans might have expected an easy win, but the players would have been a bit thick to do so, given we had beaten them at their place

All arrogant cunts I overheard on the train were expecting an easy win.

The floodlights at the Boleyn are mounted on the three newest stands. In what way are they "rickety"?

Patronising bozo.

Re: Really enjoyed yesterday
Scorch, I don't get this "visiting team expecting an easy win" comment. City's form away from home and the way we are playing suggested at least a close game and that is what we got.

Wasn't going to ludo but think we all may be going to the Nobes testimonial ... and if a FA home draw comes up I might be interested

Next home game is Villa under the lights... have to enjoy it while we still can.

I'm looking forward to the OS but my god I'm going to miss the old place.

They’ll miss the old ground when it’s gone.
Of course, next season they’ll be broad concourses, modern facilities and notable architectural features. The Olympic Stadium represents the future, even if it seems a little sterile by comparison to the Boleyn Ground.
But will they have evenings like this, when the likes of Dimitri Payet enthral fans sitting in stands so close to the pitch they seem almost to envelop the players?

Will the roar of that crowd shake the expensively-constructed new stands as it does at Upton Park, so that visiting teams with their multi-million pound squads visibly wilt under the glare of the rickety floodlights?
And will the new place sway with the momentum of the mood when West Ham attack with ambition, speed and incision as they did Saturday evening?
For last night was throwback to the best of West Ham: a team full of speed, energy and above all the astonishing skill of Payet which was a true delight to watch.
